About

Barenaked Ladies are a popular Canadian rock band that hit it big in the U.S. with their 1998  Billboard Hot 100 No.1 hit single “One Week.” With their eclectic blend of witty lyrics, pop harmonies and melodic folk, the band was already charting in Canada in 1992 with singles like “Be My Yoko Ono,” “If I Had $1000000” and “Brian Wilson.” It was their fourth studio album, Stunt (1998), that turned them into a global sensation behind “One Week.” The album also peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. Barenaked Ladies would go on to sell 15 million albums worldwide and pen the iconic theme song for award-winning television sitcom The Big Bang Theory. Since 2012, the Canadian rockers have toured their Last Summer on Earth tour. The tour has featured bands like Gin Blossoms, Blues Traveler, Ben Folds Five, Violent Femmes, KT Tunstall and many others. The quartet was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2018.

    had a fantastic time!!!

by Alea on 2010-04-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

the show was GREAT!!!! All of BNL's songs are awesome, and I loved how they mixed in the old classics with new songs off their album. They always interact with the audience and look like their having so much fun in what they're doing that the happy feeling was infectious!! ps-I loved the mock rap/ breakdancing, i think it caught us all off guard!! Joel Pleskett (sp?) was an good opener. You just want to be his friend and share a beer with the guy!

BNL was good but can be better

by rayjay on 2010-04-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

BNL performed their songs well and there was a tender moment when they had the piano player sing and rest of them sang back up vocals for him was very nice. But the playful banter they usually have all through out the concert was not there and when it was, in seemed forced rather than spontaneous. They need to loosen up and enjoy each other a bit more and get back to making it a party. They looked more like they were trying too hard last night instead of jusst letting it flow. They were good but I know that they can be better. or maybe I expect better

    Good show down a star

by Redrock144 on 2010-04-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Good show, good value, incredible venue and sound. They tried real hard but missing a little bit of crazy, style, showmanship from the old band. I expect by the next tour they will be even better.

    BNL's never disappoint!

by BNLfan on 2010-04-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

As per usual, the Bare Naked Ladies rocked. They are always awesome. There was a good mix of new and old and the band did great considering the absence of Steven Page. Ed continued to sing songs where Steven had been the main singer and he did a great job. Good humour throughout the show. Worth the money for sure!

by Barb1234 on 2010-04-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The Barenaked Ladies performance was absolutely wonderful! I really enjoy your new stuff as well as the old. It's obvious that you love what you do and have a lot of fun doing it. That wonderful fun comes to the audience through the music. Thanks so much for a really great evening!

    Great Entertainers!!!

    by emn611 on 2010-04-14TCU Place - Saskatoon

BNL was great!! They played all their best songs, even throwing in one of their songs from their children's album. They really involved the crowd and they actually knew where they were performing which so many bands have no clue about. Joel Plaskett put on a great opening act!!

    Great

by Hfhrtd on 2010-04-13TCU Place - Saskatoon

This was one of if not the best show I've been to in a long while and I go to lots. It was very evident that these guys are not only band members but obviously quite close friends. They put on one hell of a show and had just as much fun doing it as the crowd had watching them. To me it showed they were out to entertain not just collect a gate!!!

    No Steve, No biggie!

by FacitiousL on 2010-04-13TCU Place - Saskatoon

These guys are amazingly talented performers. I can't quite put my finger on it, but they just seem to have something that the average boy band does not. :-D In addition to their charming good looks, they ride on their harmony, range, clever lyrics and ability to play instruments. Their dancing routines weren't half bad either!

    Different, but still good

    by daffy131 on 2010-04-13TCU Place - Saskatoon

The concert was pretty good, even without Steven Page. The chemistry is quite different than the last time I saw them play. It is nice to see other members of the band taking a more active role in the stage presence. They still have unique voices, and the instruments are very cool. I love that double bass. The new songs are good. Well done BNL!

Great show from 2 Canadian music treasures

by MrJeph on 2010-04-13TCU Place - Saskatoon

Joel Plaskett played a 30 minute set that had the audience eating out of his hand. BNL came out guns-blazing, playing 4 old hits back to back. I expected more of the new material, but was pleased with the mix (approx. 5 new songs) throughout the 110 minute set. This is Ed's band now and he takes the lead flawlessly. The vocals are supported by the remaining three, with most of the extra work going to Kevin. This was a really great show and has a high production quality (lighting and backdrops). Great set list from a massive back catalog. Having been a fan since 1992, I was shaken by the changes in 2008 and was a bit concerned going into this show. I'm happy to say that BNL is alive and well. If you loved the band in the past, please continue to give them your support. The new disc is very strong.

We truly enjoyed the show and it was obvious everyone was there to have fun. More fun than the Eagles concert.

    BNL Rocks Saskatoon

by Scrobe on 2010-04-13TCU Place - Saskatoon

Fantastic show as usual. This was my ninth time seeing them live and they didn't disappoint. Ed Robertson took on Steven Page songs and sung them wonderfully. Even without Page they are doing their brand well and keeping all true fans happy by not being afraid to play any song.

    BNL Rocked!

by Riverturn on 2010-04-13TCU Place - Saskatoon

Had an incredible time! Got to meet them and they signed some stuff for us. They were friendly and really funny. Their opening act, Joel Plaskett, was really good, we even bought his CD afterwards. Played all the songs we wanted them to play and even with their fifth member gone now, they were fantastic!

BNL were very good, even without a Steven. They performed their old stuff with excitement and fun, cracked a bunch of jokes and were very entertaining. Their new music is lacking the fun of their old, which I'd attribute to the loss of a valuable member, but it's still the same BNL and great to see. Their warm-up band had me concerned that we were in for a less than stellar performance as they were basically 2 guys with guitars who fashioned their music to the retired generation with do-wops mixed with a maritime sound. Not quite what I'd expect to hear warming up a crowd for BNL.

    Barenaked Ladies rock!

by smk1 on 2010-04-12Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

BNL did themselves proud ... it was great to see all the band members playing more of a role and really being involved in their art. Great mix of new and old ... plus, a great sense of humour ... lots of laughs and awesome music.
