About

Legendary New York-bred singer-songwriter Billy Joel has toured only sporadically in recent years, but fans have plenty of opportunities to score tickets to see him in concert going forward -- if they're willing to head out to New York's Madison Square Garden. Joel signed an open-ended deal with MSG that will have him playing a concert at the venue once per month for as long as there's demand. And demand has never been a problem for Joel at he historic New York venue; he played his first show there in 1978, and had logged 46 concerts at the arena by 2013.
New York isn't alone in its love for the singer. Joel has long been established as one of the top-grossing touring artists in the U.S., and has sold more than 150 million records over the course his four-decade career. After recording a long string of hits including "Piano Man," "New York State of Mind," "Just the Way You Are," "You May Be Right," "Pressure," "Uptown Girl," "We Didn't Start the Fire," and  "The River of Dreams," Joel decided that he was done writing pop and rock songs. It's a decision he's stuck with; it's been more than 20 years since he's recorded a new pop or rock album. He's composed new classical material instead, while continuing to play songs from his catalog in concert.

  • Billy Joel was vintage, in amazing voice and hands

What an evening with Billy Joel!!!!! His voice was young, and his piano skills are jazzy and skilled. Each number was a production...so memorable...And he interchanged with the audience in a intimate manner and with a great sense of humour. So glad I went. And what a setlist.

I went and saw Billy Joel on Sunday, March 9 and LOVED IT!!! He totally knocked it out of the park. He was very witty and sounded great. He sang everything you would expect. He saved my personal favourite for last...Only the Good Die Young. I would recommend going to see him of you get the chance, it is well worth the money.

  • Incredible show!

by Kikiliki on 2014-03-12Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Billy Joel did not disappoint! Being 65, he rocked the ACC from beginning to end. The mature crowd created a calm, enjoyable & non-belligerent atmosphere. If all concerts were like this, I would venture to more events. Well done Billy, will see you again next time, and again and again and again .....

    by 1rockinmom on 2014-03-12Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

I thought for as many #1 hits Billy Joel has he would have played a lot more of them. The ending was amazing, what you would expect. He's funny and conversed with the audience.

  • Billy Joel - The Best Ever!

by steveab on 2014-03-12Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This was our 3rd time seeing Billy, 1986, 2009 and this concert and I can honestly say that this could have been the best of them all. Tremendous performance and he and has band were as good as ever especially Tommy Burns and Mark Rivera but all the musicians were fantastic. I hope he doesn't take another 5 years to come back to T.O.

  • Great concert. Horrible seats

by Luvofhockey on 2014-03-12Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Billy was awesome. At 65 he sounded the sane as at 25. We always sit in 109 or 110. Love those seats. This fine even with AMEX early purchase all we could get was section 321 row 17. Yes. A long distance from the stage avs I could live with that. But they are showing the video on the SVOREBOARD and you can't see it from these seats because they are BEHIND the boxes. Even worse. Right in front of us was TVs. But. Don you think they were showing the video. LOL. No

It was an excellent performance for every age! He sounded terrific and we thoroughly enjoyed the concert. The opening act was wonderful too! Hope Billy Joel comes around again because we will definitely be there.

  • Billy Joel was Amazing!

by dekeyshc on 2014-02-18The Palace of Auburn Hills - Auburn HillsRating: 5 out of 5

Billy Joel was amazing. His rotating piano meant that even though we were sitting behind the stage we had a great view of the band for at least 1/2 of the time. I would recommend the artist and the venue 100%. He played everything I could have hoped for.

  • Billy Joel " ROCKED " !

by Killerbee on 2014-02-18The Palace of Auburn Hills - Auburn HillsRating: 4 out of 5

Billy Joel concert was fantastic ! The only downside to the whole event was the parking. The parking attendants showed no knowledge on how to direct traffic to maximize the allotted spaces. Some vehicles were allowed to take up two parking spaces. Luckily, the show was delayed one hour and we just made the opening act.

  • Forever a legend

by brubino12 on 2014-02-18The Palace of Auburn Hills - Auburn HillsRating: 5 out of 5

Billy Joel was simply amazing. Being in the business for 50 years shown through his vocals and piano. I've never been to a concert where the artist sounds exactly like they do on my iPod or CD! For being 65, this man could really move an audience!

We travelled all the way from Toronto for this concert. We planned a 2 week vacation around this night. We'll, the temperature for the 2 weeks sucked. It didn't get above 60 for most days. But Billy's concert made the trip worthwhile. He was at his entertaining best. The sound was great. The visual effects were great. The night was great. He did a nice blend of radio hits and album gems. We loved the show so much we've bought tickets for in Toronto show in March. Hopefully by then the weather will be better in Toronto than it was in Florida over the last 2 weeks. And we'll have some nice new tshirts and hoodies to wear
