About

"Bluesy singer/songwriter Bonnie Raitt has worked long and hard for her multiple Grammy Awards, hit singles and chart-topping records. Since her 1971 eponymous debut, the California-born performer and long-time activist has steadily maintained a music career, albeit with definite peaks and valleys. The red-headed songstress, one of the only women of her time to play guitar using the bottleneck technique, unleashed seven albums in just nine years, though her big commercial break came with her 10th studio set, 1989’s “Nick of Time.” That 11-track collection, produced by Don Was, earned three Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.

Not only has the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer tackled multiple U.S. tours and international runs, but she’s also a frequent participant in events of social activism, such as Farm Aid and Amnesty International concerts.

Raitt’s 16th full-length album and most recent studio release, “Slipstream,” hit retailers in 2012. Not only did ticket sales for the support tour soar, but Raitt also landed the best-selling blues album of the year and took home the Grammy for Best Americana Album."

Bonnie Raitt is a fabulous performer. She's engaging with her audience and plays a mean guitar. So glad we attended this concert. Royal Wood was a new find for us and I thought they were very entertaining.

Excellent show in an excellent venue. I have been waiting 40 years to see Bonnie Raitt. Excellent band with her, my kind of stripped down show.

  • Majestic Bonnie Raitt delivers for Six Standing Ovations!

by Ali on 2023-10-11Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Bonnie Raitt and her incredible band created splendour and poignant intimacy at Massey Hall! The entire performance was captivating- as the lights came up, Bonnie’s radiant smile captured the audience’s attention and we couldn’t take our eyes and ears off her. The set list encapsulated songs from all eras as well as her loving tribute to her dear friend John Prine. To be witness to this Queen of Rock/Blues was a bucket list moment- there ain’t no woman quite like Bonnie Raitt still rockin’ it! A shout out to Royal Wood as the opener- his songwriting and storytelling stands out as well as his simply beautiful voice. What a lovely combo for this concert at this lovingly renovated venue. Massey Hall is my place to go for concerts!

  • The BEST!

    by Anna R. on 2023-10-10Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Bonnie Raitt is the coolest! She relates to the audience, shows her appreciation and her care and concern for others - Ukraine, Reconciliation, her fans, those that we and she lost. She is so relatable. She is a consummate professional. Her voice sounds amazing and her guitar playing is superb! Her performance is seemingly effortless, and her band was excellent and T-I-G-H-T!!!! So so so good. This is my second time seeing her and i would see her another 100 times! She is one of my all time favs. PS/i remember when she won her first Grammy's in 1989 - Album of the Year, Best Female Artist, etc. I was 24 years old and thought - who??? Boy oh boy, did the Grammys ever have it RIGHT!!! I am a super fan of this wonderful, talented woman! Wishing Bonnie all the very best, always. xoxoxox

AT aged 73, BONNIE RAITT has not slowed down and is as good as she was at age 18! Her singing and slide-guitar playing remain impeccable. Her band was terrific. It was a GREAT SHOW!
