About

"Bluesy singer/songwriter Bonnie Raitt has worked long and hard for her multiple Grammy Awards, hit singles and chart-topping records. Since her 1971 eponymous debut, the California-born performer and long-time activist has steadily maintained a music career, albeit with definite peaks and valleys. The red-headed songstress, one of the only women of her time to play guitar using the bottleneck technique, unleashed seven albums in just nine years, though her big commercial break came with her 10th studio set, 1989’s “Nick of Time.” That 11-track collection, produced by Don Was, earned three Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.

Not only has the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer tackled multiple U.S. tours and international runs, but she’s also a frequent participant in events of social activism, such as Farm Aid and Amnesty International concerts.

Raitt’s 16th full-length album and most recent studio release, “Slipstream,” hit retailers in 2012. Not only did ticket sales for the support tour soar, but Raitt also landed the best-selling blues album of the year and took home the Grammy for Best Americana Album."

    Better than ever!!

by Bregor on 2023-10-04Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

From start to finish, Bonnie Raitt was “top-rate” along with her fellow musicians and warm-up act-Royal Wood. So glad to have witnessed this incredible performer in action!

    Bonnie Raitt was fantastic, but...

by Musiclover on 2023-10-03Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

I love going to shows at The Burt because of the intimacy and the atmosphere of yhe old theatre. Bonnie Raitt was absolutely fabulous, but we were constantly being distracted by the usher who spoke very loudly to patrons and employees throughout the show. We were in the 5th row of the first balcony and our friends in the last row, one section over could hear him and found it very annoying as well. Perhaps employees should be made aware that almost yelling is really not necessary and could detract from the enjoyment of customers who have paid good money to hear some excellent music.

    Bonnie R & Company

by Wayne-O on 2023-10-03Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Bonnie was very engaged with the audience. Very enjoyable and that voice is still belting out "Let's give them something to talk about." My spouse and I really enjoyed the Concert experience with Bonnie R. The warmup act was quite good as well. Bonnie and her band are very polished, professional and simply enjoyable. Bonnie loved the Burt venue, like her the venue and Bonnie are a class act. Great value for such a legendary act

by Marsands on 2023-10-03Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Bonny has an amazing voice and continues to be an amazing, outstanding performer. I used to think there was no bad seat in this theatre, but I have to say that sound quality up in our section was poor at best. Disappointing for sure.

    A masterclass in showmanship

by WSG on 2023-10-03Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Bonnie Raitt was sublime at her Winnipeg show. She has complete control of her voice. The power of that voice has not diminished one bit. She has always been a first rate slide guitarist and that was true on Saturday. Her band was spectacular. It was a treat to have Winnipeg-born Glenn Patscha on stage as part of the Raitt band. That guy can play. Bonnie Raitt is truly a legend. This show met the standard of a legendary artist. Lucky me to have been there.

    Fabulous concert

by LJM on 2023-10-03Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Bonnie Raitt is the consummate pro. Great interaction with the audience. Just the right amount of banter. Her voice is just getting better. Her band of seasoned players was so solid. Effortless playing. And always in the pocket. Royal Wood and crew were great. Loved the harmonies.

    Venue Environment

by firewolf on 2023-10-03Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Staff were wandering through the seating area telling people not to use their phones; very distracting; much more so than the occasional user who wasn't even videoing or taking pics.

by Swan on 2023-10-03Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

One of the best live performances I saw in a long time! Great show! Acoustics were wonderful! Although the opening band were hood( I found all their songs a tad bit depressing.

    Completely satisfying

by Page on 2023-10-03Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Bonnie, as always is full out in her interaction with the audience, her selection of tunes and her ability to take you with her on an emotional ride. Her connection to Winnipeg is only getting stronger with the Bros Landreth song, and the mention of the community involvement on Truth and Reconciliation Day with the march on Saturday. Also, she went to the Human Rights Museum and seemed somewhat blown away, as anyone should be. She's so down to earth our Bonnie.

    An incredible employee

by Golfman on 2023-10-03Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Based on my observations this was an older crowd that came to see the fantastic Bonnie Raitt. Her performance was wonderful and I enjoyed it immensely. This enjoyment was facilitated by one employee of True North. I have a bad knee and the seats are very tight at the Burt. After the warm up band I was in physical pain trying to sit in those seats. So I approached the usher and asked if I could stand at the back or side of the balcony so as to not interfere with anyone but allow me to see and enjoy the show. He indicated that I could not stand there because other people would also end up standing there and blocking the exit. I understood and was prepared to sit in the lobby to wait and listen to the show. Instead this employee went and got me a stool to sit on so that I could see the show, not be in anyone’s way and not be standing in an isle. He went well beyond what I was expecting and made the whole experience much more enjoyable. I don’t want to use his name here in case he gets in trouble for what he did, but know this. He made me a believer in human kindness again. Thank you.

Bonnie Raitt - One of the best concerts I've attended

by Bub on 2023-10-03Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Burton Cummings Theatre is in my opinion the best musical venue in the City of Winnipeg and it certainly did not disappoint for this concert. The venue is small and very intimate which is the best way to enjoy the performer and the music. The sound is incredible in this theatre, there's easy access and lots of parking in the area. It was our first time seeing Bonnie Raitt live and what an incredible performer. Fantastic experience and absolutely loved the evening
