About

"Bluesy singer/songwriter Bonnie Raitt has worked long and hard for her multiple Grammy Awards, hit singles and chart-topping records. Since her 1971 eponymous debut, the California-born performer and long-time activist has steadily maintained a music career, albeit with definite peaks and valleys. The red-headed songstress, one of the only women of her time to play guitar using the bottleneck technique, unleashed seven albums in just nine years, though her big commercial break came with her 10th studio set, 1989’s “Nick of Time.” That 11-track collection, produced by Don Was, earned three Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.

Not only has the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer tackled multiple U.S. tours and international runs, but she’s also a frequent participant in events of social activism, such as Farm Aid and Amnesty International concerts.

Raitt’s 16th full-length album and most recent studio release, “Slipstream,” hit retailers in 2012. Not only did ticket sales for the support tour soar, but Raitt also landed the best-selling blues album of the year and took home the Grammy for Best Americana Album."

  • We love you Bonnie.

by Bearberrians on 2017-06-20Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Royal Woods was okay, nice voice, tight musicians. Bonnie has such warmth and musicality. Her singing voice is strong and compelling, her speaking voice a little cracked. So many great songs from her new album and old favourites. She is a gem. I would have liked to have her voice and slide more out front, but I expect this was a choice based on her modesty. It was a great concert!

  • My first Bonnie raitt concert!!

by MBfanforever on 2017-06-20Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

Great show! Wonderful musicians! Was disappointed that no photos were permitted including no flash. I always like to have some for souvenirs.

  • Awesome

I was so happy to see Bonnie come back to Winnipeg and she did not disappoint. Appreciated her banter with the audience and the professionalism of both her and her band. It truly looked like they enjoyed themselves and so did I. Two hours and a great set list sent me home listening to my albums for the next week.

  • Bonnie Raitt fantastic as always!

by Frostback on 2017-06-20Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Bonnie Raitt put on a fantastic show as she always does. Her band was polished and her performance was as good as she has ever been. Her vocals and playing haven't lost a thing with time. Go she this show!

  • Best Concert in Years

Did not disappoint. Bonnie played all the old favourites plus the tracks from the new album. Really intimate and gave it her all. This gal still has it in spades. Brilliant guitarist as well. Well worth the ticket price. Would go again, and again.

The concert was great, totally enjoyed Bonnie. She is an amazing guitar player and I enjoy her singing. The background set was beautiful. If she comes again to Edmonton, I'll be there (this was my 2nd time already seeing her).

  • Best Female Artist Ever

by Belle53 on 2017-06-20Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was so entertaining, Bonnie did an amazing job, as did her band. She played many of my favourites. I have been listening to her since 1972 and love her music as much today as I did back then. Bonnie is an amazing artist that continues to deliver such a wide range of genres and talent. Loved the concert and love Bonnie.

First time I had seen Bonnie live. Absolutely amazing! 67 years YOUNG - still rocking it. Voice was as if it was 40 years ago. Would highly recommend going to see her.

  • Excellent music, annoying lights

by MiniMouse on 2017-06-19Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

The inimitable Bonnie Raitt never disappoints. Her rapport with her audience, her genuine emotion while performing, and her lovely demeanor are sure to please everyone. The opening act, Royal Wood, was ok, although his songs have too much repetition. The annoying part was the blinding white lights during certain songs. This wasn't a hyped-up metal band - this was a laid-back bluesy rock show. No need to blind the ageing audience out of their relaxed reverie. The gorgeous background was easy on the eyes - until the bright white lights broke the spell. Also, it is time for public spaces to become scent-free. The blend of competing fragrances, each splashed on with self-serving abandon and generosity, makes for an olfactory overload of unpleasantness for anyone, and is a potentially-deadly combination for those of us with allergies.

  • Wonderful show!

How can you not love Bonnie Raitt? She sings like an angel, surrounds herself with talented musicians, and her music has withstood the test of time. She is an iconic singer/songwriter who has lived her life on the road, performing for her fans. An evening with Bonnie, highly recommended.

  • Bonnie Raitt unbelievable

by Oldbill on 2017-06-19Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

This was an amazing show it started slow but then it really heated up. Bonnie and her orchestra were great, the vocals of Bonnie were sensational and so was the vocal by her piano man. The opening act was really good, Roy Wood I believe was his name. We were in the back rows of the theatre but we enjoyed her music, the guitar playing the set. It was one of the top concerts we have been to. It was great value

  • Absolutely Fabulous!!

by Oldsoul on 2017-06-18Burton Cummings Theatre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

We were so lucky to be able to take in Bonnie Raitt's concert and with it being held at the Burton Cummings Theatre was an added plus. The venue there is much more intimate and the show was spectacular. From the opening act of Royal Wood to Bonnie's entourage group it was a class act throughout. Her voice has not changed much if at all from over twenty-five years ago when we first became fans.
