Calgary Surge History
Calgary Surge is a professional Canadian basketball team based in Calgary, Alberta, and a member of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). The team was formed in 2018 (then under the name Guelph Nighthawks) and relocated to Calgary for the 2023 season. The Surge was quickly established as a force within the league when the team finished first in the Western Conference and reached the CEBL Championship Game during their inaugural season. Despite being a relatively new presence in the city, Calgary Surge has quickly built a loyal fanbase.

It's so fun having a basketball league in Canada! We took my 10 year old nephew to a game for his birthday and he LOVED it! Already told us we can give him tickets again for his next one haha. Solid basketball and fun atmosphere. Definitely hope to catch another game soon!
Got a email the day of and it turns out they had to move us up a row. We ended up sitting second row on the court and we had a great time. The basketball was awesome, the target score time was actually on the edge of your seat. The come back and almost win was crazy. Cant say it enough how much fun the game was. We will for sure get tickets for a home game in Calgary.
A really enjoyable experience! The game was very thrilling and the atmosphere in the arena was great.
High quality basketball. Thought could’ve done more to keep crowd engaged (tossing rubber basketballs into crowd more than once) big issue is the DJ. Doesn’t have to play music so loud throughout the game. Want to hear the players on the court it drowns the atmosphere. I shouldn’t have to shout over the music to talk to the person next to me
Went to the Surge game for the first time and had a blast! Great family fun with a great environment, plus, our team played really well! Parking staff made it very easy to park and find parking. Venue was well staffed so we didn't have to wait in line long for food and drinks, and they had a few activities for the kids. I think we'll be making an effort to catch more games moving forward. Overall, a great experience! Go Surge!
Sound not great and MC voice to shrill and that sound system hurt my ears

We love the Surge and we especially l9 loved thé kids corner with ballons, facepaint and glittery Surge tattoos!! The team is fantastic and the environment is really fun. The only issue was that the noise was so loud we couldn't hear the host running contests so it was difficult to follow what was going on. If the xolume could have been a little lower (our kids were holding their hands over their ears) and the host's mic a touch louder, this would have dedinitelt been a 5 star experience
