Amazing show
by Dragonfly on 2024-09-25Rating: 5 out of 5Firstly I will say that the opening act Michigander was good. They did a low key set with just the singer playing guitar & another guitarist. It felt more intimate in that setting. Michigander did about an hour & then there was a short break before Crowded House came on. Crowded House were amazing from the first song. At times Neil Finn was pitchy but that can be forgiven in a concert. They alternated between their new songs from Gravity Stairs & old favourites like Don't Dream It's over, Private Universe, etc. They even did the old Split Endz song I Got You. Hubby & I had a great time. The banter between songs was enjoyable. I never knew Nick Seymour had such a quirky sense of humour. I would see Crowded House again anytime. The Niagara Falls show was their only stop in Canada so I'm glad I got to see them. The OLG Stage is a great venue. It's conveniently connected to the Hilton Fallsview through their upper level & connected to the Wyndham Fallsview through a tunnel to the Hilton. So we didn't even have to go outside which was nice as it was a little chilly on the concert night. We had great seats & the venue is built with stadium seating so even if tall people sit in front of you, you still get a great view of the stage. I really appreciated that. The sound in the venue was great as well. I think whoever the sound engineers were did a good job but the venue is also good acoustically. The only small thing I didn't like about the venue is that all the washrooms (2 sets) are on one side. It's kind of strange. Usually a venue has washrooms distributed throughout the building so that there isn't any bottlenecks for washroom lines. Luckily the lines went quickly so you didn't have to wait too long. Even the men had to line up. The staff here were also great. Other than that, I would definitely see another concert at the OLG Stage.
