Crowded House on Tour

Crowded House are a multi-platinum-selling Australian rock band who gained fame following their 1986 smash hit "Don't Dream It's Over," which has become one of the most covered songs of the last 20 years. Artists who have covered the song include Paul Young, Sixpence None the Richer, Stan Walker, and The Head and the Heart. These songs and the many that came after continue to resonate with audiences around the world decades later. After releasing their seventh studio album, 2021's Dreamers Are Waiting, Crowded House headed out on a North American tour, with international dates planned as well. The band's new album -- their first since 2011 -- and tour features founding members Neil Finn and Nick Seymour along with producer/keyboardist Mitchell Froom, guitarist and singer Liam Finn, and drummer Elroy Finn. Don't miss your chance to hear these classic songs, and new material, live. Get tickets to see Crowded House when they come to a city near you.

Crowded House Live in Concert

Formed in Melbourne, Australia, in 1985 from the ashes of New Zealand's Split Enz by Neil Finn, Paul Hester and Nick Seymour, Crowded House released their self-titled debut album in 1986 on Capitol Records and went on to international success with hits "Don't Dream It's Over" and "Something So Strong." The first iteration of Crowded House was active from 1985 until 1996 and released four studio albums to much success worldwide. Audiences around the world were coming out in droves to see the band for their freewheeling and interactive live shows. The original lineup performed their legendary Farewell to the World concert in 1996 at the Sydney Opera House before 150,000 fans. In 2007, following the passing of original member Paul Hester, Finn and Seymour got Crowded House back together again with longtime touring member Mark Hart and new drummer Matt Sherrod. Their new album, Intriguer, was released in 2010, their last album before 2021's Dreamers Are Waiting. In 2016, Crowded House was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame and during that same time brought back their Farewell shows for four nights of live performances at the Sydney Opera House.

    Not what I expected!

by Weaverone on 2010-09-03Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I was going to the concert expecting a best of type deal. Was far from it to be honest. I mean they were fan friendly and all that but for a group that wasn't in Edmonton until the 80's one would think there were alot of hits to cover. I thought of 5-6 hits that I went there for and one off the Split Enz era. "I got you" was one I was actually looking forward to hearing never got played. As well as "Something So Strong" and "World were you live" both of which never got played. I checked out the setlist prior to going to the concert and requested that all three of the songs listed prior be played. Needless to say they weren't. I don't know what to say but it wasn't what I expected.

    Crowded House = Brlliant!

by JuaJua on 2010-09-03Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

This was my first time seeing them live and I loved every minute of the concert. The only way it could have been perfect was if people could stand and display their enjoyment of the show without blocking the people seated behind. It wasn't until the encore that we were allowed to go up to the stage and appreciate them like they deserved to be. I would love to see them in concert again!

    Crowded House was absolutely incredible!

by Rivet on 2010-09-03Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I've seen this band almost every time they've come to town. From the '80s (when they were Split Enz) through the '90s when they were big -- and now that they're all grown up. It is rare that a band is able to sonically surpass their albums -- but they do it every time. The guitars are better, the vocals are better, the arrangements are better and you get an entertaining show delivered by incredibly seasoned professionals who never shy away from an opportunity to interact with the audience. Don't miss them next time they come to town.

    Great band, great songs, but....

by Malamute on 2010-08-31Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Love Crowded House. Great songs, talented musicians, and Finn has presence. Surprisingly the venue did not sell out and they re-arranged seating closing the balcony for "a more intimate setting". As such the crowd may have lacked some energy for the band to feed off. Also felt the sound mixing was a bit off, the Guitars and drums were fine, but the keyboards frequently sounded "off" and distracted me from the flow of the songs. It was almost like they were early in a tour and still polishing their show. Something I did not expect from veteran musicians of this calibre. In particular, they brought out a lady (introduced as Sharon I think) to sing on two songs, and we could barely hear her, like barely audible. When they tried to get the crowd to sing along it lost momentum as most were to laid back or not familiar enough to know the words.

    Crowded House Worth Every Penny!

by Arwin on 2010-08-31Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

This was a great concert. Crowded House sounded as good if not better than ever. They not only are great muscians they are real crowd pleasers. They sang afew old Split Enz tools at the request of the audience and this was so much appreciated by us long time fans! Having grown up with their music it is great to see them back touring and I recommend this concert highly. Very talented, variety, showmanship - you name it, this concert had it all!

    Crowded House

by Anonymous on 2010-08-30Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Neil Finn's voice is as strong as ever. They had issues with the sound, the mix was muddy and the lighting was terrible, what is going on with those strobe lights. But the music won in the end. So many great songs and the crowd interaction was fun.

    The boys still have it...

by SAPierre on 2010-08-30Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

An excellent concert overall. Played all the classic songs, with the best of the newest 2 albums. Very very tight musically, Neil Finn's voice was at its best.

    They've still got it

by LisaVi on 2010-08-30Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Neil Finn's voice is still amazing. We loved a couple of the numbers from the new album but would have like a few more familiar songs in the first half of the concert. When they came out for the encore was when the whole audience really got into it. We were all up and dancing. Paul Hester is still very much missed as the banter between himself and Neil was always so entertaining. Having said that Nick Seymour is doing well there. Just wish the other 2 would talk. Best song of the night was as always "The Weather with You". The whole audience was singing along to this one. We would definitely go again and I think the more intimate setting was perfect for them.

    Crowded House, An Amazing Performance!!!

by MCMJ on 2010-08-30Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Crowded House showed that they still have it. Playing songs from their new album as well as old songs such as Four Seasons in One Day and Better Be Home Soon, they showed that they still have passiong for what they do. The atmosphere during the concert was amazing, and the crowd participation to their classics was something that I will never forget. I am glad that I had the opportunity to see them, and would not hesitate to purchase tickets again if they were to come back and play in Vancouver!!! Thumbs up to a fantastic performance!!

    Crowded House OK in Vancouver

by jealousguy on 2010-08-30Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

I went because my sister really likes them. I have their DVD so I know of them. To be honest I usually prefer an edgier/harder rock sound. For me it was just an OK show. Some tweaks here and there could improve it: The guest female singer stood way back at the piano and was nearly invisible (her voice didn't carry well either). No camera on the piano keyboard so Mark was also invisible half the night, which meant it was often just Neil and Nick up front and that didn't seem enough. All of us noted the drummer Matt was really good. The overall sound was good, but the band/music could really benefit from a violin or sax or both to give it an extra edge. Stage minimal and set background boring. They all looked good and performed well, they showed good humour and seemed happy to be here.
