Dave Matthews Band in Concert
With a career spanning more than 27 years, Dave Matthews Band is one of the most influential bands in rock history. In 1991, vocalist/guitarist Dave Matthews decided to put some songs he had written on tape and sought the assistance of drummer Carter Beauford and saxophonist LeRoi Moore, who were both accomplished jazz musicians in the local Charlottesville, VA music scene. 16-year-old bassist Stefan Lessard came on board shortly thereafter. Their infectious, distinctive sound garnered lots of early attention and a die-hard loyal fan base, catapulting the band into one of the most successful touring acts of the past three decades.
The group has since released nine studio albums and numerous live recordings, selling a collective 38 million CDs and DVDs combined since the 1994 release of its major label debut, Under the Table and Dreaming. The GRAMMY®-winning band's many hits include "What Would You Say," "Crash Into Me," "Too Much," "Everyday," "American Baby," "Funny The Way It Is," "Mercy" and "Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin)."
Founding member LeRoi Moore passed away in August of 2008 and the band paid tribute to him with 2009's Platinum-certified Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King. Dave Matthews Band has since welcomed longtime collaborators/touring musicians Jeff Coffin (saxophone), Rashawn Ross (horns) and Tim Reynolds (guitar) into the lineup and - most recently - keyboardist Buddy Strong.
With 2018's Come Tomorrow, Dave Matthews Band became the first group in history to have seven consecutive studio albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In a Critic's Pick review, The New York Times observed, "willed optimism fills the songs on 'Come Tomorrow,' while cynicism and irony are nowhere within earshot... each song notes the fears and sorrows it's determined to overcome. The music does that, with consolation in its melodies and a life force in its rhythms."
Renowned for their live performances, Dave Matthews Band has sold over 24 million tickets since its inception and ranked as the biggest ticket seller worldwide of the past decade. The group's Bama Works Fund, established in 1999, has raised more than $52 million dollars for humanitarian and environmental initiatives.

This was our first DMB show and first time at this venue. We will be back again. Great location. Perfect sound. Just awesome.
Amazing show, amazing venue, so happy to finally see this awesome band live after being a fan for so many years!
Second time seeing Dave Matthews live (same venue) however this time was not as spectacular as 3 years ago. There seemed to be something off or missing, long pauses in between sets but they're still amazing musicians but compared to the last concert we saw, a little disappointed.
Dave Matthews played some new and old tunes for 2.5 hours....amazing concert.
There’s a reason why fans don’t just go to a single show during a tour... always a new set list, super good energy, the best fans :) Do yourself a favour, go see DMB the next time you can... I mean, travel if you have to - you certainly won’t be the only one.
My best friend and I have been to 5 DMB concerts over the years. The band was awesome as always. You can tell they really enjoy playing their music. At first all we saw was bums as everyone stood up. My friend is not well so didn't have the energy to stand for the whole concert. After a while everyone sat down and we could see better. Overall I thought the concert was great. We were sorry when we had to leave
The band was beyond tight, excellent musicians and Dave is not only a great singer and frontman, he's a really humble guy, always thanking the crowd. It was an amazing night!
Dave and company was phenomenal as usual. It was my 5th show and every one has been amazing in it's own way. If you haven't seen them, you need to make it happen!
Finally DMB comes to Van and I get to see them! These guys do not disappoint. Seeing them live beats their studio albums any day of the week. Carter Beauford is one of my all time favourite drummers. The Lovely Ladies were a nice new addition to some of their songs providing backing vocals. I love it when they extended their songs. These fellas have an amazing chemistry as a band their musicianship is top notch. Go see them live if you haven't already!
Seats were great, and Dave Matthews and band are incredible. Half the show is his songs you hear on the albums the other half is a massive jam session, which is awesome given the talent on stage. The show was LONG (which is always a good time, and worth the money) and divided into two sets. Loved the acoustic and the move into more electric and full band sounds. EXCELLENT
Can't fault David Matthews or the band for giving it their all, but in the end, extending every song to 15+ minutes to fill the time just didn't cut it. The rhythm never go set, and was never maintained. 2-3 minute breaks between songs just put people off. The crowd was very restless as a result with the overall performance and made it even harder to get into what was going on. Love his music, but I'll stick to the radio instead of live shows going forward.
The band continues to amaze me. They bring so much energy to the stage and have a way of capturing the audience. Their set was awesome and their sounds was spot on. You can tell that they still love playing live and appreciate their fans!
What a show! They played for three hours...they are such talented musicians! I can't wait for the chance to see them again!
It was a show of amazing steamy sweat delivered talent in every way!! Each and everyone of the men who make up this band are very emotionally and musically engaging!! Truly and experience if you are at all a Dave Matthews fan ... This group together are pro's and the talent and energy is mind blowing!!!
I've been a huge fan of DMB since I first heard them while working in the USA in the late 1990's. Only seeing them once the last time they played at Rogers Arena; I had to see them play again. Though the band members have changed somewhat, the current group stays close to the original format but with more oomph with the addition of Tim Reynolds (on a full time basis) on lead guitar, Jeff Coffin on Sax (replacing the late LeRoi Moore) and Rashawn Ross on trumpet. I knew this night was going to be special with two sets; one being acoustic and one electric. The acoustic was a dressed down concert version without the massive LED screens with all members of the band joining Dave on stage. Unplugged live at its best. After a set break the band reemerged to play their electric set which steadily gained momentum with the crowd feeding off of the long riffs, extended versions of Save Me, Don't drink the water and the epic Ants Marching to finish the show.
Was secptical about seeing Dave and the band in an arena this time around, but they did not disappoint! The sound was amazing!
Wow did we get our money's worth with this show - two very different sides of the Dave Matthews Band, spread out over the course of three hours - one side being acoustic and the other electric. Crossover jams blending roots-rock, jazz, blues, alternative rock and scat singing that left my hands hurting from clapping. Enjoyed the show - Dave's voice is amazing and the band was also amazing... they were having a fun time jamming and you could see it. My only critique is there were too many pauses between songs and it felt like they were doing this for the first time (didn't flow well) but it was worth the wait. My husband and I have wanted to see Dave for 14 years and glad he came to Vancouver.
First, I love this band... Have every record. But this concert frustrated me until I got frustrated and left before the end. The people I went with and I all complained we could not hear what Dave was singing. His vocals volume level seemed to be well under the instruments, so only sounded like any parent on the Peanuts... mumble mumble mumble. Now this is the 2nd time DMB has come to Vancouver in 10 years and this was the same problem as last time. So I guess this is the way he likes it and that would mean it's the last time I see him in concert.
The band knows how to give an exceptional show. Both sets were amazing.
They are all such amazing musicians and artists. even though it was a large venue it felt very intimate, like it was guys having fun jamming it out on stage. Can't wait until I can see them again!!
