About

Dave Matthews Band in Concert

With a career spanning more than 27 years, Dave Matthews Band is one of the most influential bands in rock history. In 1991, vocalist/guitarist Dave Matthews decided to put some songs he had written on tape and sought the assistance of drummer Carter Beauford and saxophonist LeRoi Moore, who were both accomplished jazz musicians in the local Charlottesville, VA music scene. 16-year-old bassist Stefan Lessard came on board shortly thereafter. Their infectious, distinctive sound garnered lots of early attention and a die-hard loyal fan base, catapulting the band into one of the most successful touring acts of the past three decades.

The group has since released nine studio albums and numerous live recordings, selling a collective 38 million CDs and DVDs combined since the 1994 release of its major label debut, Under the Table and Dreaming. The GRAMMY®-winning band's many hits include "What Would You Say," "Crash Into Me," "Too Much," "Everyday," "American Baby," "Funny The Way It Is," "Mercy" and "Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin)."

Founding member LeRoi Moore passed away in August of 2008 and the band paid tribute to him with 2009's Platinum-certified Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King. Dave Matthews Band has since welcomed longtime collaborators/touring musicians Jeff Coffin (saxophone), Rashawn Ross (horns) and Tim Reynolds (guitar) into the lineup and - most recently - keyboardist Buddy Strong.

With 2018's Come Tomorrow, Dave Matthews Band became the first group in history to have seven consecutive studio albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In a Critic's Pick review, The New York Times observed, "willed optimism fills the songs on 'Come Tomorrow,' while cynicism and irony are nowhere within earshot... each song notes the fears and sorrows it's determined to overcome. The music does that, with consolation in its melodies and a life force in its rhythms."

Renowned for their live performances, Dave Matthews Band has sold over 24 million tickets since its inception and ranked as the biggest ticket seller worldwide of the past decade. The group's Bama Works Fund, established in 1999, has raised more than $52 million dollars for humanitarian and environmental initiatives.

  • Dave Matthews is a stud!

by Feilop on 2015-09-04Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

He managed to turn Rogers Arena into an intimate venue and create an awesome experience. How can you not love someone who opens for themselves! Two full sets, and I didn't have to sit through an opening band!!

  • DMB is awesome!

Through several thunderstorm cells, construction and traffic delays we made it to the show an hour in, then had to leave early to get back home. What we did get to see was DMB at their best! We would do it again in a heartbeat....and probably will for the next tour.

  • Magical as always!!

I loved it! There is something about their sound that makes me feel so wonderful. And they played for over 2.5 hours! So fun!

Great venue! Amazing sound and weather! Loved the concert! Little disappointed in set hoping he would play Crash but he didn't. Still overall had a fabulous time!

  • The Music was great, but seating was not so great

by sjmum on 2014-06-09Darling's Waterfront Pavilion - BangorRating: 3 out of 5

Couldn't see the band, along with several others around us. The music and lights were great. But because we couldn't fully get into the concert, we left early. I was really excited to see DMB, but was let down as soon as the concert started. Too bad there isn't a slop where these seats are located, it would have helped.

  • DMB awesome as always.

Always a great show.I loved the "Stir It Up " tease and "Don't Fear the Reaper" cover. Closed with an Epic version of "Ants!"...a perfect close A band that everyone should see live at least once.

  • Amazing ... as usual

    by Jewels7 on 2013-06-03Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Despite the horrible weather earlier that night (who knew it would be so miserable at the end of May?!?), the band gave a terrific performance. Probably one of my favourite live bands and seeing them at the Molson Amphitheatre is an annual tradition. Can't wait for next year.

  • DMB was amazing !!!

I really enjoyed this concert....although I was concerned about the weather, luckily the rain held off. Everyone was having a great time. Dave Matthews and his band are phenomenal musicians and demonstrated this throughout a fantastic setlist that highlighted over 20 years of great music. This was the perfect concert to kick-off a summer of music!

  • Dave Matthews delivers again

by Preo on 2013-05-31Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Performing for well over 2 1/2 hours the Dave Matthews band was outstanding. The energy from this group is fantastic. You can't complain about a $100 ticket with the effort these guys put forward. If you like their studio work you'll be amazed at how good they are live.

  • Dave Matthews Band blew me away

I only went to this concert cause my daughter wanted me to as this is her favorite band. All i can say is I go to a lot of concerts and this Band is over the top, they are so good live that a CD does no justice to the integrity of thier music but the people that were beside me sure know how good this band is. Dave Matthews displays so much emotion and energy and the perfection of every song by this band was so enjoyable and refreshing to get lost in the moment. I was so impressed with the drummer and his solo at the end of the concert was may I say a moment to remember, his infectous smile and energy all night on the big screen made the mood for all to enjoy. Every band has a band member that keeps things tight and the drummer sure was this person as his beat made the band follow and keep every song real tight and made the band was sooooo good.
