Marianas Trench in Concert
Multi-Platinum selling progressive pop band Marianas Trench has been big news in Canada for years, and they caught on with US audiences in a major way following their acclaimed 2015 album Astoria, a slick collection of larger-than-life pop masterpieces that showcased their playful lyrical sensibility and knack for anthemic choruses. In concert, Marianas Trench is a whirlwind of emotion and attitude, rocking the stage with adrenaline-filled performances that put their tight musicianship front and center. Frontman Josh Ramsay is a born performer, and his energy is completely infectious as he sings his heart out on upbeat jams like "This Means War" and "Celebrity Status." The rest of the band keeps pace with lively performances that always leave fans thoroughly rocked and ready for more.
Marianas Trench Background
Marianas Trench was formed in Vancouver in 2001 by Josh Ramsay, a singer-songwriter and guitarist who previously fronted the group Ramsay Fiction. He joined forces with Matt Webb (lead guitar), Mike Ayley (bass), and Ian Casselman (drums), and Marianas Trench made their debut in 2002 with a self-titled EP. In 2006, the band released their full-length debut album Fix Me on 604 Records, which they supported with extensive touring across Canada. The album went gold in Canada, but its success paled in comparison to the band's 2009 sophomore LP Masterpiece Theatre, a Top 5 hit on the Canadian Albums Chart that established them as pop royalty virtually overnight. Their third album Ever After was equally well-received, cracking the Top 10 and earning a prestigious Juno Award nomination for Album of the Year, and earning the band the title of Juno Award winners for Group of the Year in 2013. Their fourth album Astoria earned them a 2016 Juno nomination for Group of the Year and unleashed the power ballad Who Do You Love. It also opened up Marianas Trench to the European market where the band toured twice in support of Astoria. Currently in the studio, Marianas Trench is hard at work putting the finishing touches on their 5th album set for release in early 2019.

Great sound and great bands. Well done and entertaining. So impressed
Wow!! That's all I can say! I've seen Marianas trench 9-10 times now over the years. I didn't think anything was going to beat thy first time I seen them. But this concert was absolutely amazing! All the boys sounded amazing! Always kept us on our toes! The harmonies were meltdown worthy. I am so impressed! The emotion from all the band mates was great. Mariana's trench took it too a whole new level. Very impressed!! Can't wait till the next time!! Yours truly, Miss Ally
The bands were energetic and interactive. Hats off to the opening act who did just a good of show as the headliner!
I took my daughters to the concert knowing only a few of their songs, but enjoyed the concert and would go see them again. Nice tribute to " risky buisness" better then Tom Cruise. They rocked it!!!!
Very Awesome Show. Would recommend telling others about this Band.
This band has unique music and put their heart and soul into their performance. Their show is incredible!
Anime Vice opened for MT, they were alright, and everyone starts somewhere. I would not consider myself a rapper fan, but Down With Webster were quite good, and they have some stage presence that got the crowd getting in to the show. MARIANAS TRENCH - WAS SO SO SO SOOOOOOOO GREAT! Their stage presence was amazing. And the musical artistry was nothing I have ever seen. Josh Ramsay, and all of MT have the knack to perform for sure. It was so fun! I would for sure go again. AWESOMER AWESOMER AWESOMER !!
This was a great concert with top knotch performances. Josh Ramsay really knows how to put on a show, getting into the crowd with reckless abandon. Down with Webster really set the stage and put on a great show as well. I'd easily go back to see another show. My only critique would be the sound which at times in the Corral Centre got too jumbled up making it difficult to hear Josh's vocals over the whine of the speakers. Be that as it may, Josh knew when to put his 100% in to overpower the treble and I am truely impressed at how well he can sing without the aid of autotune or crap like that. Although Josh can be a little flagrant at times, being a rock star he can do what he wants. Good job Trench!
What an incredible show. The only small venue show on their stadium tour, but they still gave it their all! Great music, amazing harmonies and awesome surprises through out the show. They really made it a theatrical event!
DWW was amazing!!! They put on such a great show! I can't wait until they are headlining! Marianas Trench was a little bit creepy and didn't enjoy enough to stay for their whole performance....
Down With Webster put on a really great show. Marianas Trench did too, but i feel DWW should have been the head lining band.
Wow what a concert. The music was incredible and the fans were totally in to in and rocked the corral. Only drawback are the acoustics in the corral. Didn't matter though cause the concert was incredible.
Mariana Trench put on an incredibly fun show, with great stage theatrics. They kept up the theme of from the latest album weaving the stage show through the story with a scattered with songs from the previous albums. They really seemed to be enjoying putting on the show, and engaged the crowed very well. Definitely going to see them again!! The opening act, Down with Webster, was very good as well. I only knew their radio/video singles going in, but they put on a fun energetic show as well.
This is the 6th time I've seen Marianas Trench and it was by far the greatest show they have ever put on!!! The songs were amazing and the graphics were cool. The sound was great and when josh thanked the crowd he was so genuine!! Thanks for an amazing show guys ad i can hardly wait to see you again!!
Josh Ramsay and his band put on an AMAZING show! I loved the entire performance.
They were amazing their talented and they are great entertainers. I had an awesome time and it was the best night of my life. And I got to touch Josh Ramsay's arm OH YEAH they are my favorite.
I was impressed with the concert and would recommend it to other fans. The sound mix wasn't that great at times though. I thought the Corral was a nice size for the concert. I enjoyed when the lead singer did his cover of Every Breath You Take. He sounded great, but the piano wasn't miked well so it sounded pretty tinny.
great show but the sound system wasn't that great... LOVED mariana's trench... opening bands were meh... we were close enough to the stage but the 2 sets of speakers hanging down completely blocked centre stage... really bad seats for the highest ticket price!!! a real disappointment! will go again when they come though!!!
Great show!! Hope they come back again!! Can't wait to see them another time!!!
