Marianas Trench in Concert
Multi-Platinum selling progressive pop band Marianas Trench has been big news in Canada for years, and they caught on with US audiences in a major way following their acclaimed 2015 album Astoria, a slick collection of larger-than-life pop masterpieces that showcased their playful lyrical sensibility and knack for anthemic choruses. In concert, Marianas Trench is a whirlwind of emotion and attitude, rocking the stage with adrenaline-filled performances that put their tight musicianship front and center. Frontman Josh Ramsay is a born performer, and his energy is completely infectious as he sings his heart out on upbeat jams like "This Means War" and "Celebrity Status." The rest of the band keeps pace with lively performances that always leave fans thoroughly rocked and ready for more.
Marianas Trench Background
Marianas Trench was formed in Vancouver in 2001 by Josh Ramsay, a singer-songwriter and guitarist who previously fronted the group Ramsay Fiction. He joined forces with Matt Webb (lead guitar), Mike Ayley (bass), and Ian Casselman (drums), and Marianas Trench made their debut in 2002 with a self-titled EP. In 2006, the band released their full-length debut album Fix Me on 604 Records, which they supported with extensive touring across Canada. The album went gold in Canada, but its success paled in comparison to the band's 2009 sophomore LP Masterpiece Theatre, a Top 5 hit on the Canadian Albums Chart that established them as pop royalty virtually overnight. Their third album Ever After was equally well-received, cracking the Top 10 and earning a prestigious Juno Award nomination for Album of the Year, and earning the band the title of Juno Award winners for Group of the Year in 2013. Their fourth album Astoria earned them a 2016 Juno nomination for Group of the Year and unleashed the power ballad Who Do You Love. It also opened up Marianas Trench to the European market where the band toured twice in support of Astoria. Currently in the studio, Marianas Trench is hard at work putting the finishing touches on their 5th album set for release in early 2019.
Honestly, this was the best concert I have ever been to. The opening acts made the crowd vibes amazing and I even made some great friends there! When Marianas Trench finally came on, they had an amazing opening, and it was super enjoyable. The concert itself was unforgettable; Marianas Trench really know's how to put on a show and I would definitely see them again.

They sounded beyond awesome and their energy was unreal!!! they were a show all in themselves!! marianas trench - put heart and soul into the show and truly know how to make their fans feel like they matter! AWESOME JOB!!!!
The only reason it didn't set a 5 is because the volume was set too high for the venue. It was difficult to even understand the singing

Loved the show and the seats my only diappointment was they didn't do an encore,I've seen them numerous times and this is the 1st time not only they were headlining but also NO encore!
It was great to see DWW opening for them. When both bands were on stage together it was awesome! Mariana's Trench put a lot of effort into their show and it didn't go unnoticed. They pulled out all the stops even though we don't have the biggest venue and it wasn't a sold out show. Gotta love our amazing Canadian bands!!
The concert was amazing last night, josh was really involved with the crowd, even the ones who sat in the back seats, by coming up the stairs, and even crowd surfing. I just wish he would have come out after the concert to see all his hard core fans who waited outside by the tour bus in the -15C weather for an hour before being told he had aE>lready left.
I (35) went with my two nieces (15 & 21) and we all thought the concert was awesome from start to finish. *Anami Vice reminded us of Eminem a bit, and got the crowd warmed up. *Down With Webster totally impressed us. They definitely gained a PILE of fans that night, me included. High energy rock/rap/dj! High energy performers for sure! *Marianas Trench was AWESOME! They have so many good songs and for them to come out in their 'Desperate Measures' costumes was fantastic. Josh is one crazy dude - out of all the concerts I've ever been to I've never seen the lead singer of the headline band head out into the crowd & in the stands with NO security... and to not miss a beat the entire time he was being mauled... incredible entertainer! We would go back to see them in a heart beat. Awesome concert!!

Marianas Trench performance was incredible. Totally surprised by their musical talent. Absolutely enjoyed their HARMONY, musical talent and abilities. They are definitely crowd pleasers. Hope Josh did not hurt himself after his spill into the crowd! Great comeback though. Keep up the good work gentlemen. I look forward to listening to your music in the future. This was my first time seeing Marianas Trench in concert and they put on an amazing show full of costume changes and videos. They were high energy and amazing!!!! Sang all my fave songs, love these guys!!!

Marianas Trench was absolutely fantastic. Josh has so much energy. The whole thing was theatrical, and engaging. I'd go again in a heartbeat, but next time I want to be a lot closer! I couldn't believe when Josh went into the audience. I thought he was going to get mauled. It wasn't surprising when they ripped his shirt off. The whole concert was just amazing.

One of the best concerts I've ever been to! Josh was full of energy. The music was very loud and the band members were all very interactive with the crowd. The music was great. I had a great time! The t-shirt selection was also great. I would definitely go back to another concert by Marianas Trench!!!!!
We travelled 8 hours to attend this event and we were not disappointed. All three acts were entertaining.
