Not Great. I was expecting so much more from this amazing artist. Where were the old songs and hits? Very Disappointed!

  • waste of an evening !

We were so looking forward to seing Neil Young in concert again but were completely disappointed in the show. If you like Neil Young, save your money and stay home. If you like a 2 1/2 hour contest of which band member can make the most feedback and noise with an electric guitar, you're in for a treat. He played one song at the piano and 2 with the acoustic guitar which were awesome. He lost the crowd in my opinion. People were looking around trying to figure out if this was for real or not. A number of people around us left early. I've never seen that happen. We stayed to the end hoping things woudl imporve.....they didn't. This was the worst concert I have ever been at. If I could have rated the it as 0 star, I would have.

  • Neil and the horse, the best they've ever been!!

I'm lost for works on this one. I am a huge fan and probably wouldn't have a bad thing to say no matter what, but this show was dieled right in for sound. Neils guitar/amp were a prart of him and the show flowed out in waves. His new songs are as good as any, can't wait to buy the new album!!

played to much of what he wanted to play and not what the crowd wnated to hear. to bad such an iconic musician with so many classic tunes cant read the paying fans better. bought 4 tickets, took my family to what I hoped would be a treat for them, drove 2 hours each way and eveyone was disapointed. Should have saved my 400 bucks.

  • Awesome show!

by Areswar on 2012-11-17Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

Played some of my favorite old songs (needle and the Damage done, Hey hey my my, cinnamon girl, after the gold) so right there i was having a great night. Seeing him in his 70's still rocking the guitar was amazing! The new album is so well done and it was just a great night of long heavy guitar songs and Neil being a bad ass! If your going to the show JUST to hear the old music, Please do us all a favor and don't go or if you do go dont bitch about not hearing your favorite song. This Tour is to promote his new album so be prepared to hear a lot of the new stuff!!

It was like a torture test waiting for Neil Young to play his great songs.I was hoping for more guitar and harmonica and a lot less self indulgent noise. I'd like my money back.

  • Fantastic Show.

by JamieL on 2012-11-17Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 4 out of 5

Neil Young and Crazy horse put on a fantastic show. I saw Neil Young last time he was in Saskatoon and he played almost entirely different songs this time. It was nice hearing some of the songs he missed last time.

  • Not enough classic Neil

by Anonymous on 2012-11-16Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 3 out of 5

This seemed more of a Crazy Horse concert than a Neil Young concert. He did play for 2.5 hours but only played a couple classic Neil Young songs. On the classic songs he only played 3 minute versions. When he played his newer material each song was 10 minutes long. I probably wouldn't go to another Neil Young concert if he came to town; the tickets were also very expensive.

  • Expect the unexpected

I have learned a little about Neil Young in recent months. He is not an artist that I have followed, but my friends are avid fans. His concert and the music was well done.I unfortunately missed any news about the theme and therefore found some things difficult to follow. It became clear once I read some reviews afterward and made a difference in my thoughts about the concert. The audience generated a lot of excitement for him, so I was taken up by that and just enjoyed the evening.

  • Young and Crazy Horse just blew us away!

by thunderaxe on 2012-11-16Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Neil Young and Crazy Horse rocked it good hard and loud! Young can still make his guitar sound like a siren! So many good moments in the concert to all mention! He covered old standards and played up some newer ones. The stage set was adequate and let the musicians do their thing without being overwhelmed by it like some artists. Let the music stand on its own. "A Day in the Life", standing and singing "Oh Canada" and serenading Neil with "Happy Birthday"! Wow! Fabulous concert. Glad I saw Neil for a third time!

  • Neil Young in Saskatoon

WORST CONCERT I HAVE EVER ATTENDED !!!! AFTER WAITING MANY YEARS TO SEE NEIL YOUNG , I CAN HONESTLY SAY IT WAS THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT EVER FROM A FAN PERSPECTIVE ! IF I WANTED TO WATCH A JAM SESSION I WOULD HAVE GONE TO A LOCAL BAR ! A COMPLETE WASTE OF $ 232.00 FOR TICKETS , $ 152.89 FOR A HOTEL , PLUS $ 98.00 IN FUEL , NOT TO MENTION MEAL COSTS !! NEVER AGAIN WILL I WASTE MY TIME OR MONEY . NOT SURE WHAT HE WAS THINKING WITH THIS SET LIST , BUT NOT ONE PERSON IN MY SECTION WAS HAPPY AND MANY LEFT BEFORE THE SHOW WAS EVEN OVER !!

  • Loud and fantastic

by Neilfan on 2012-11-16Scotia Centre - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was absolutely fantastic. This was not Neil doing his greatest hits but it was amazing. The night flew by. I didn't want it to end. Yes the jamming was long but it was all good.

  • DISAPPOINTED

    by oasis9999 on 2012-11-16Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 2 out of 5

This was our second time , the first concert was very good, this one was for people that enjoy backroom jamming sessions. I did not enjoy the concert, at times had trouble keeping wake. Noticed lots of people left before it ended.

  • Save your money for something else.

The highlight of the evening was the opening band "The Sadies". Fun and interesting music. Next up was Los Lobos who wound us down for what was to follow (what, no "La Bamba"?) Neil started out with O Canada, which was inspired! But things pretty much went down hill from there. They didn't play many songs, but what they did play went on and on and on and on, with self-indulgent jam sessions in the middle of most songs, followed by an ending that went on and on and on. They played "Cinnamon Girl" which was fantastic! What made it great was not only because it's one of the great oldies, but it didn't have a 5 minute jam session in the middle and a 5 minute ending. It's been a long time since I left a concert early, but after an 1 1/2 hours I'd had enough. And so had many others as I joined a steady stream of others leaving early. So, thanks to The Sadies for the fun music!

  • Very disappointed

    by Taryn123 on 2012-11-16Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 2 out of 5

Way to much heavy guitar playing not enough singing, songs lasted way way to long, not crazy about the play list. Didn't really like the pre show.

  • by loyalmusicfan on 2012-11-16Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 1 out of 5

The worst concert EVER!! We walked out what was with the all the distortion and irritating portion of the concert where Neil Young was "adjusting the equipment"

  • by Jive on 2012-11-16Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 2 out of 5

The tunes played were too long and to loud for these old ears. Would have liked to have heard some of Neil's softer songs that were easy listening.

Very disappointed! Spent over $500.00 on tickets family drove over 7 hours to attend and it was a jam session!!!! If we wanted to see a jam we would of gone to a bar. Neil Young was the first concert I took our son to over 25 years ago and he is a dedicated fan so he was sooo let down, hoping to hear some old tunes etc. Don't think we will attend another concert of Mr. Youngs again as we feel it was a huge waste of time and money!
