  • Neil Young was one of the best concerts I've seen

    by Anonyma999 on 2012-11-14Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the variety in songs and sounds, the props and techies dressed in costume. Neil & band were fantastic, so much energy. Los Lobos and Sadies were excellent as well.

  • Garage Jam Session

by Skoob on 2012-11-13Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

I did enjoy the concert disappointed he didn't play many of his older songs, some of the songs seemed to be the "Song that never ends" with most songs ending with 3 guys jamming for another 3-8min. Neil is awesome anyway you put it just thought it would have been different, seen Neil in the Cowichan Valley a few years back now with Barenaked Ladies ... that was a concert I will never forget.

  • Supreme Sound

by katzenjammer on 2012-11-13Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Besides Neil Young/Vancouver being an awesome concert, the sound was supreme. Up in on 317, row 5, I could hear every note, ever cord change and all the lyrics. Whatever Neil Young's sound team did, they did well because I felt up close to the sound like I do in a club.

  • Neil Young- proud Canadian!

Neil did not forget his roots or his Birthday. So many unforgettable moments and surprises at this concert. What a treat.

  • Great Show

    by Melris6 on 2012-11-13Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Could have shortened some of the songs to get more in. Other wise a great show.

would have enjoyed less of the new album , and more of the older music

  • Neil Young was rockin

by Jnazzy on 2012-11-13Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

This was not for those looking for a greatest hits show. Definitely more for serious Neil fans. Lots of material from his new albums. Really loud and serious amounts of guitar distortion. Neil is an incredible performer, gives it his all and is true to the music. Sme lighter moments, and acoustic numbers like needle and the damage done, and twisted road which is a new one, but sounds like a classic. If you're a fan, don't miss this show. If you want an acoustic greatest hits show, buy the cd. Started with singing o'canada with a huge flag on stage. Great night all around.

  • Rock n' Roll will never die!

by shanaki on 2012-11-13Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Neil Young and Crazy Horse were spot on at Rogers arena Sunday night..I was impressed by Mr. Young's (who turned 67 the next day) seemingly never-ending energy. This man is a true artist-he loves what he does and it shows. He is the "real deal". I did feel bad for some older members of the audience (older being 65+ perhaps - I'm 49 so older than that!) Some folks I spoke with were disappointed, thinking they would be hearing more of Neil's acoustical side. Be forewarned people - & Crazy Horse =mostly LOUD, RAW Rock n' Roll. Great show!

  • Super cool Neil Young

    by janjan7 on 2012-11-13Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Fanastic show! Expected a bit more of a sleeper experience but uh uh! He rocked us out. Great stuff, had a wonderful night.

  • Neil Young and Crazy Hours

    by Sher8 on 2012-11-13Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 1 out of 5

worst concert I have ever been to. Hokey props, stupid skids, and music was good but the finishes were long and self absorbed. He hardly looked at the crowd, and played to his guitar player or his speaker. for the money I paid for the ticket and him being a canadian boy I was really disappointed , we left 1/2 thru. The opening acts were good .

  • They Have Been Better Neil Young & Crazy Horse

by Groggman on 2012-11-13Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 2 out of 5

I don't know what Neil, was on but he could not let a song end.

  • by Anonymous on 2012-11-13Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

Neil was on fire. He played a great show, although some of the songs he chose were rather obscure and he missed a number of his classics that we would have liked to have heard instead. Lots of "artistic improv".

  • Better then I imagined it would be!

by LeandraGG on 2012-11-13Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Phenomenal! I had been looking forward to this event for months, although I felt like, at 22, I was the youngest person there I still had a blast!!

  • Neil Young and Crazy Horse Super Show

by Lakerust on 2012-11-13Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was great from the beginning, Sadies were a good opening pick as well as Los Lobos, both on time as was Neil (tight ship). The energy put out by Neil Young and Crazy Horse was constant and unwavering from start to finish. The blistering solos with a super strong backup rythmn was a treat, and fully expected being a hardcore Neiler. Walk Like a Giant, and Ramada Inn were great new songs of extended length, (Neil Young Trunk show jam style) . A few oldies too got the older crowd in the seats moving, Needle and the Damage , Cinnamon Girl, Mr. Soul, and of course Hey Hey My My. I got exactly what I paid for and more, it's too bad the full house crowd could only muster a single encore song from Neil (Roll Another Number), cause us other old farts could only yell so long. A few recent concerts, Elton John, Prince, Brian Adams, this was by far the best.

  • Neil Young was a disappointment

Too much electric guitar and not enough classic Neil.

I have seen Neil many times but this was by far the best. I can't quite describe the show. If you are a guitar nerd and Crazy Horse freak it was heaven. Unique sound which cannot be replicated by anyone. Emotionally stirring, the show seemed unreal at times and I had to remind myself that i was actually there and this was actually happening. I always regretted not being able to see them on the Weld tour, but I feel like it has boomeranged back and am lucky to have gone.It had a psychedelic, ineffable tone and I am having difficultly integrating this experience into everyday life. Pure gratitude to Neil and CH.

  • Absolutely AVOID

by Ingleside on 2012-11-13Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 1 out of 5

Neil Young was possibly the worst concert I have ever seen. My Austrian born friend Beate (who didn't grow up here when Neil sang wonderful songs like Helpless, Heart of Gold etc..) and I were having our ears assailed while contemplating more interesting things like ironing or redecorating or skiing. First of all we were subjected to 2 full hours of, not one, but two, back up bands. Only Los lobos had it dialed down enough to here the instruments through the re-verb and only one song was memorable. Neil came on and played brand new material that nobody wanted to hear and massive ear pounding, 2 chord, repetitious garage band jam session guitar jams with a freaking bizarre "pirate" flag behind the drummer (When did Neil Young morph into Jimmy Buffet?". We left after 6 songs. I am very glad that Leonard Cohen, the next night, was so incredibly amazing (3 hours without a rip off back up band) it made this horrible evening with Neil bearable for the weekend of Canadian icons (or ex-icons). Best Moment - Leaving Redeeming Moment - Buying a T-Shirt in support of the Bridge School for people with Cerebral Palsy. If you want to help Neil and Crazy Horse with his much needed retirement plans then please fork out the money for tickets, or just send a donation.

  • Mixed feelings but a pleasure seeing Neil live

    by 604Powell on 2012-11-13Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

If you were hoping to see the chill, harmonica playing Neil Young performing his hits then you might be a little disappointed. While I am a fan of Neils grungey garage rock, it was a bit much at times. The loud, repetitive guitar solos grew a bit tiresome. It did feel at times you were just watching Neil and crazy horse jamming out and not performing at a concert. The overall feeling of the show seemed a little dark. The crowd, myself included did not always seem into it. However, Neil just turned 67, it's understandable he doesnt want to play the same hits he's playing all these years. It is an honour being in his presence and to listen to him prove he is barely affected by his age. He played some of his classics that erupted the arena and ended the show on a lighter note with "Roll Another Number." The concert was good just not fantastic. I enjoyed his 2008 show in Vancouver more but am still happy I went and would pay to see him again!

  • Didn't Get My Fix of Neil's Classics

    by Flatlander2 on 2012-11-13Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 2 out of 5

One of the Best Crazy Horse outings for Neil. The voice and sound and guitar was amazing.Neil and Crazyhorse looked and sung in top form. The band exploded onto the stage, and electrified the audience with the first few songs. Then sadly ,came the seemingly endless barrage of meaningless repetitive 5 to10 minute song endings .It put new meaning into the term ' ' broken record ' ' .Neil's redeeming solo acoustic set brought the audience back, with thunderous cheers and sing along .But the repetitive barrage resumed leaving many disappointed. It all sounded so much the same. Neil would pull out a classic ,and everyone would go nuts again. Had the time spent on the tedious song endings been dropped in favour of 3 or 3 more of the Neil's classics ,the outcome would have been very positive.
