About

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) are an English electronic music band formed in Wirral, Merseyside in 1978. Founding members Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys pioneered a distinctive synth-pop sound, scoring major hits like "Enola Gay" and "Maid of Orleans." Rounded out by members Martin Cooper (keyboards, saxophone) and Stuart Kershaw (drums), OMD released several acclaimed albums in the 1980s, and have continued to record and perform over the decades.

    Fantastic Fun

by Peaceful Nomads on 2022-05-23Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

OMD did not disappoint- all of their big hits and a few surprises thrown in. They have such an expansive catalogue this could have been 4 hours. As it was they played for nearly 2 hours and it was flawless. They still sound as they did in they 80s, which is impressive considering they are all in their 60s. The stage show was just right - efficient and effective. OMD makes our top ten list and we have seen some great concerts over the years. Just a lot of fun and good energy.

Great concert but a little too tight

by Paula on 2022-05-23Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

OMD were fabulous but I would have liked to see this in a larger venue and perhaps inside as in May it still cools off quickly after the sun goes down. Also, not being able to use Interac to pay for drinks was annoying as I still don’t use cash much since COVID.

    Awesome, as ever

by Westcoastrider on 2022-05-23Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

So firstly the skies were clear and the ground dry; big help. Secondly OMD are awesome, Andy's vocals are as clear amd as strong as int the 80's; no fading stars here. All the favourites with Joan of Arc/ Maid of Orleans always my favourites; great reach back to some real retro factory classics too; the night ended, could we have kept dancing?; yes we could...... next time

    Disappointed

by Chris on 2022-05-23Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

We ended up not going. TOO MANY RULES!!! No umbrellas allowed if it rained, no chairs allowed, no cooler boxes allowed so we couldn't take our own food, no smoking ANYWHERE in the park.

Moved to tears - can't wait til they come back

by Kathryn on 2022-05-23Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

Andy's voice and control - amazing. I also love his physicality. When Paul sang Forever Live and Die, I wept happy tears. It was such a beautiful experience for me. I also heard new songs and I can't wait to binge on them. What a gift, this band. Thank you so much!

    OMD did not disappoint

by Petunia on 2022-05-08History - Toronto

This was my first show in 3 years and a new venue to boot. It was a fabulous trip back to the 80s. The band was pure energy and had the crowd up and dancing though out the show. Nothing compares to live music at it's best! Thanks for the memories, I would see OMD again and again.

by Demi on 2022-05-06History - Toronto

OMD was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! The sound, the energy - exactly the same as we have always loved! Such a great time! My first time at this venue - that was also amazing. Great treatment by friendly staff, lots of room to dance and enjoy the music, and no bad spots as far a view in the whole venue. Highly recommend seeing a band there. Can’t wait to see OMD there again!!

    OMD - Souvenir Tour

    by A. O. on 2022-05-06History - Toronto

The venue was nice and intimate and the show was amazing. I found the opening act different, a little weird, and not at all in line with OMD's style of music or energy. Andy and Paul and the rest of the band were full of energy and smiles and put on a great show. It was our first time seeing them and our first concert in 2.5 years. We had a blast.
