About

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) are an English electronic music band formed in Wirral, Merseyside in 1978. Founding members Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys pioneered a distinctive synth-pop sound, scoring major hits like "Enola Gay" and "Maid of Orleans." Rounded out by members Martin Cooper (keyboards, saxophone) and Stuart Kershaw (drums), OMD released several acclaimed albums in the 1980s, and have continued to record and perform over the decades.

Amazing Performance! Wish it felt safer.

by KT on 2022-05-06History - Toronto

OMD puts on an amazing show and did not disappoint. The band has great sound and is able to create a genuine rapport with the crowd. This was my first concert since February 2020. With no masking and proof of vaccination in place and given it was hot/questionable ventilation, I wasn't able to enjoy myself as much as I have at past concerts and I'll likely not return to the venue anytime soon.

Fantastic energy, voices still the same. The venue was also great! I’d do it again and again.

    Great Show

by Mel’s Rock Pile on 2022-05-06History - Toronto

Last saw OMD a few years ago at a shortened show when their drummer had a heart attack on stage. Thankfully he survived. This was their return to Toronto - a great show marked by Andy McClusky’s energy and showmanship. The visuals were great as well - the opening song (Stanlow) was amazing. The Toronto venue (History) is a fantastic addition to the city’s venues.

OMD rocked! I have seen them in concert over 10 times. I absolutely love them! Their opening act, In The Valley was great. Venue was awesome. I can’t wait to see OMD again. I look forward to my next concert at History!

    Late start weekday

by Chaz on 2022-05-06History - Toronto

We thought the show was at 7 p.m., but then realized through updates that main act comes on at 9. So we decided not to go....weekday. When we were 25 9 would be ok, but now decades later...work, schedules, 9 is too late for a weekday. What, home at 12? And there was no online resell capability for the tickets. Sorry we missed it.

    Such great energy

by Drew on 2022-05-06History - Toronto

Andy's voice is still strong, powerful and quirky as ever, along with his dance moves (those who know, know).

    Great band, great new venue

by Oktober on 2022-05-06History - Toronto

A terrific show! OMD never disappoints; sounding as good or better than they did 40 years ago!! They played all the hits and the deeper cuts the fans love. History is a fantastic new venue. The sound is incredible, and with an electronic band like OMD, that enhanced the whole experience. Great music, great spot, can’t wait to go back!

    Incredible Performance!

by Mike on 2022-05-06History - Toronto

WHAT AN AMAZING SHOW! I liked a number of OMD songs from the 80’s, but I had no idea how much I was going to enjoy experiencing this concert. I will be going to see OMD every time they come to Toronto and if I get the opportunity to see them elsewhere. WOW!

Wife said OMD is like OMG

by HardBrand on 2018-03-18The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

My wife said this was one of her favourite concerts. I thought it was really good, but she was the super fan and wasn't disappointed! They played a nice mix of songs (old and newer), and all their best. The opening act was an odd pairing, I didn't get it. Maybe that's just me?
