About

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) are an English electronic music band formed in Wirral, Merseyside in 1978. Founding members Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys pioneered a distinctive synth-pop sound, scoring major hits like "Enola Gay" and "Maid of Orleans." Rounded out by members Martin Cooper (keyboards, saxophone) and Stuart Kershaw (drums), OMD released several acclaimed albums in the 1980s, and have continued to record and perform over the decades.

    Phenomenal!

by Isotype on 2018-03-16The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

These guys are absolutely amazing. They played a good mix of new and old material, and played it with such vigour and gusto that it was an absolute pleasure to watch and dance to. Took my friends to this concert who were less familiar with their material and they said it was one of the best concerts they’d been to.

How refreshing to see a band that appreciates their fans, and genuinely loves performing and is heartfelt in their appreciation of the applause they get. They sound great, they smile, they make me happy seeing and hearing them.

    OMD just keep getting better

by Fatman on 2018-03-16The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

It's over 30 years since I first saw OMD play and they're even better now than they were then. They don't just put in the effort, but they clearly, genuinely enjoy themselves and that's really contagious. A great mix of old and new songs (and the new songs are excellent) made the set fly by. Can't wait for the next new record and tour!

    OMD were fabulous

by StuckInThe80s on 2018-03-16The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Its been a while (like a decade or more) since I've seen OMD live. I'd seen them first in the 80s and wasn't sure if they'd stand the test of time. All I can say is WOW!!!! They were absolutely fantastic. Their set list focused more on their older material which is why most of us were there. Before the show my group of four had each picked a song that we'd hoped they'd play and we each got our wish. Clearly Andy and Paul love what they do, they were entertaining and sounded incredible. I'm still kicking myself for not getting a ticket for the second night.

OMD at the Danforth Music Hall

by Moose007 on 2018-03-15The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

despite being in their 40th year as band, their energy is amazing. Andy's crazy dancing as he says , Dance like no one is watching , is simply tiring to watch. Their vocals and musical ability is phenomenal . Will definitely go again, and I recommend their meet and greats, its not just a quick photo with unresponsive band members, its interactive!!

OMD have gotten even better with age!

by destinycm on 2018-03-15The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

The last time I saw OMD was when they opened for Depeche Mode... in 1988. It was my first big concert experience and in my experience, to this day they were the only opening band that had the stadium full and every single person on their feet... like they were the headlining band. Fast forward 30 years and we were able to remember clearly why that was. Entertaining, Engaging, Funny and they sounded absolutely perfect. They played all the "hits" with a taste of their new music too. I would got back to see them in a heartbeat.

    OMD Blew me away!

by 80sarealiveandwell on 2018-03-15The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

There is something really heartening about seeing a favourite band from decades ago and seeing not only that they still have "it", but that they have also gotten better with time. Love the mix of hits and new songs. Show was energetic and amazing. Like the venue. Slope means being able to see and space means dancing. Great combination.
