  • Social D Unforgetable

by abeyx on 2009-07-27Edmonton Event Centre - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

First of all Edmonton Event Center is a great venue! Everyone gets a real live intimate setting with beverages available and no crazy lines for the bathrooms. If you are looking for a more mature setting this is the venue for you! Social D did not disappoint with two high energy opening bands the crowd was tingling for Mr. Ness and company to emerge. They played all the old favs and a new song off the upcoming album they engaged and talked to the crowd and had screaming guitar solos.

  • Social D.. Getting better with age

    by Rhinos18 on 2009-07-27MacEwan Hall - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Yet again Social D performed above expected standards. Mike Ness and the boys sure now how to put on a show.

They're old...and they can ROCK! Best concert ever! it was great. Great crowd, great openers, but most of all Social Distortion was SUPER!

If you like Social Distortion go see them, you'll end up Loving them. Their energy is high, their sound is tight and Mike Ness is an honest and happy front man.

  • Purely awesome!

by Dojuk on 2009-07-26MacEwan Hall - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Not gonna lie, if you missed out on this concert you seriously missed out in life. Although they look like they could be pushing 100, Mike Ness is still able to belt out the tunes. I would definately see them again.

by hosehead on 2009-07-26MacEwan Hall - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

There are not bands out there who can take the stage and kick your ass for 2 hours solid.

  • 30 years of underground rock n' roll

by JayB on 2009-07-26MacEwan Hall - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic show, I missed the opening acts unfortunately but Social D kept it real with their authentic punk/rock style. A small venue such as MacEwan Hall is what this band was designed for. They played a kittle touch of everything from their 3 decades of success and I was very pleased to hear their up and coming album has not strayed from what they do best. Can't wait for the opportunity to see them again.

  • Best show in Calgary this summer

by rocknrollbetty on 2009-07-26MacEwan Hall - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

This was the best show this summer. It is no wonder they have a strong following even after 30 years.

  • Social Distortion was good....again

by PunkerChick on 2009-07-26MacEwan Hall - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

Social D played Mac Hall. I'm not the only person around that wishes that there were concerts in Calgary that were for people 18+. There's something about actually being able to have a drink in your hands while watching your favourite band play.... AND. The smokers. Why do they think they can smoke inside? It's disgusting. I don't like going to a concert then smelling like someone's dirty ashtray afterwards. They need more security at these events to get people to butt out! Mike Ness seemed to have a lot of energy, the show was great. The acoustics in Mac Hall are something to be desired though.

  • Social D didn't disappoint

by bosnanian on 2009-07-26Edmonton Event Centre - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing show. All the bands were good. Social D was amazing. I waited a long time for this show and it was worth it.

  • Social Distortion

by Roadapples on 2009-07-26MacEwan Hall - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

30 years for a band to be around is tough enough but to still have the energy and drive to perform the way Social D performs is another feat of its own. Playing Social Classics like Bad Luck, Mommy's Little Monster, and the Johnny Cash cover Ring of Fire Satisfied any old school Social D fan and brought any newer fans to see why they have withstanded the test of time. Prison Bound as an encoure got the pit stirred into the biggest frenzy of the night and a great way to end the show. Mike Ness was on his game as the little banter with the audience quickly gave way to nothing but a good ol rock and roll show. With them hitting the studio in Dec it's hopefully not long before we see the boys back in Calgary again.

  • full of energy and fun

by Pharis on 2009-07-26MacEwan Hall - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was just great; probably the best I will go to this year. The opening bands were ok, but any one next to social distortion is just ok. Social distortion was amazing and the crowd was really pumped up to be there; the energy of the crowd was crazy.

  • Timeless Punk

by JdChaos on 2009-07-26MacEwan Hall - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

This by far is the show of the summer. Its the next day and my ears are still ringing, and I can't talk because I belted out every word right along side Mike Ness but from the floor of coarse. Social Distortion improves on perfection evertime and somehow leaves the crowd totaly satisfied but screaming for more. This is the reason I am and always wil be a SICKBOY. New album being recored in December.

  • Social Distortion Rocks!!!

by Suffer on 2009-07-26MacEwan Hall - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

They were awesome, unlike a lot of bands they played a lot of old stuff and not as much new stuff. I would definately go seem them again.

  • SD rocked the EEC

by SDlovah on 2009-07-25Edmonton Event Centre - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Great show, even though they don't have a new album out with new songs to promote they did do a few off their upcoming release that they will be recording at the end of this year. It's always great to hear all the Social D songs that I have grown to love. They have been underground for 30 years, let's hope they keep writing music with meaningful lyrics.

  • Social D was utterly amazing

by CamiMac on 2009-07-25Edmonton Event Centre - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Not only were the opening bands talented, amazing and unbelieveable Social D put on the best show this seasoned concert go-er has ever seen.

  • Shivers

by Jefferson on 2009-07-24Edmonton Event Centre - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing experience. Social D has been playing and rocking cities for 30 years . Still putting on awesome shows leaving anyone that has seen them feeling fulfilled and sending shivers down your body. Mike Ness sure knows how to perform like the best. If anyone gets a chance to see Social Distortion live...Do it!
