Taking Back Sunday put on a great show. Major bummer, the sound guy had everything way too loud. My wife and I had ringing ears for the next two days
I've been waiting for the Taking Back Sunday show for ages and it was exactly what I thought it would be! They kicked off by playing TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS in full, which really amped up the crowd and made for some great singalongs. The night's coin toss resulted in them playing WHERE YOU WANT TO BE - I'll admit I had been hoping for LOUDER NOW but it was still fun to hear the album front-to-back and rediscover songs that I had forgotten about. Adam Lazzara and John Nolan had some great banter on stage and a couple of short stories to explain some of the songs. Overall, it was exactly what I expected from a Taking Back Sunday show - it was loud and energetic, and I walked away with a raspy voice from screaming along.
Adam Lazzara’s voice is long gone and barely comprehensible. He has tried to adapt with a new vocal style but the result resembles a homeless Elvis Presley impersonator. This band should have stopped touring many many years ago.
Through no fault of Ticketmaster, this concert sort of sucked. It was like the lead singer was singing everything in a different key and style than it was recorded; which kind of defeats the purpose of an album anniversary tour.
My biggest regret is that I didn’t buy tickets for both nights. This was by far one of the best and most special concert I’ve ever been. Truly a magical night to reminisce the past and see how far we’ve all gone to be here.
Taking Back Sunday are best seen in a club venue, and Danforth Music Hall did not disappoint! Great venue, two great shows, and fans who sang along to every word. Can’t wait till the next time.
Great concert. TBS was amazing, the energy in the venue was out of this world. Would highly recommend seeing TBS if you haven't. Enjoyed hearing Tell All Your Friends in it's entirety. Only complaint was that the sound was distorting a bit and the guitars weren't mixed clearly. Other than that great concert.
The band is great and I love the Danforth Music Hall (the slanted floor helps the view!). Unfortunately, the sound wasn't the greatest this time. Specifically, it was very hard to hear the vocals at times.
Taking Back Sunday has literally just gotten better with time! This was my 5th time seeing them, and dare i say one of the best! Starting it off with Flicker Fade ensured that I wouldn't be able to speak for the rest of the night, and by the time they closed with Makedamnsure...well...I couldn't Such a good show. They don't always chat much with the audience, but I'm okay with that. Adam (the singer) did have to break up some sort of fight mid way through, which is always a little weird (what exactly does the crowd do?) But other than that fantastic!
The doors at the Kool Haus opened at 6:00pm. I knew The Used was coming on at about 8:30pm. I showed up at 8:15 and there was still a long line up. Once inside, it was so packed but managed to make our way to the bar in the back corner. Grabbed a few beers and went to find a spot to watch the Used. Could not seem to get very close at all. The Used hit the stage, and were awesome as usual, but the sound quality was poor, and I could hardly see the band. Perhaps some big screens would be cool to have. Taking Back Sunday came on next, and although I know most of their songs, i found because of the sound quality, it was tough to make out which song they were playing until they got into the chorus. Over all, I do like how you can move around anywhere with alcohol, and not just a 19+ section like they used to have. In the end, I would not recommend this venue, but would recommend seeing both The Used and TBS!
