Bonny Light Horseman on Tour

Whenever three professional artists come together, exceptional outcomes arrive. This is the case for the indie-folk trio of Bonny Light Horseman. The band consists of Tony Award-winning playwright, songwriter and musician Anaïs Mitchell, producer and multi-instrumentalist Josh Kaufman, and composer and songwriter Eric D. Johnson. Bonny Light Horseman is set to commence on their 22-stop 2022 tour across the United States. With a fierce understanding of folk music, this band fine-tunes their sound to tiptoe across the line of traditional and modern folk. Their combined musical prowess emanates through their performances, creating a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see true musical genius at work. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2020 and was soon followed by their two singles, "Green Rocky Road" and "Greenland Fishery." The group then released the single "California" in 2021, a single from their 2022 album Rolling Golden Holy.

Bonny Light Horseman Live in Concert

First premiering their work together at Bon Iver's 2018 Eaux Claires Festival, the three members of Bonny Light Horseman were invited to play at Bon Iver's short-lived residency in Berlin. After these shows, Bonny Light Horseman was formed and named after a 16th-century British ballad. Their music wowed audiences, which is no surprise due to the members résumés: Mitchell created the musical Hadestown, which received eight Tony Awards®, including Best Musical. Kaufman previously worked with The National, Craig Finn, Josh Ritter, The War on Drugs, and Bob Weir. Additionally, Johnson was the singer/songwriter for Fruit Bats. This stint in Berlin was the inspiration for their debut album, Bonny Light Horseman, which was a Grammy-nominated masterpiece. The album was nominated for Best Folk Album, and their song from the album, "Deep In Love," received a nomination for Best American Roots Performance. The group reconvened in upstate New York after the COVID-19 pandemic, with drummer JT Bates and bassist and saxophone player Mike Lewis, to flesh out their 2022 album, Rolling Golden Holy. Bonny Light Horseman maintains more than 700,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, with their Grammy-nominated song, "Deep In Love," leading their popularity with more than 23 million streams.
