About
BULLY IN CONCERT:
Alt-rockers Bully imbue their punk-influenced anthems with a catchy blend of sugar-coated pop hooks and heavy-hitting distortion, and fans can't help but get caught up in their rebellious and fun-loving attitude in concert. Frontwoman Alicia Bognanno is a dymanic force at the band's live shows, sweetening the fuzzy guitars and distorted basslines with her sultry voice before ratcheting up the intensity with raspy shouts on the choruses. The rest of the band adds energetic flourishes like spacey echoes, swirling atmospherics, and driving rhythms to standouts like “Trying”, “Too Tough”, and “Brainfreeze”. Fans of alternative and grunge looking for with a fast-paced onslaught of sing-along-worthy tunes won't want to miss Bully on tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Before she began playing guitar in college, Bully’s firebrand frontwoman Alicia Bognanno’s only musical experience was an audio engineering class she took as a senior at her liberal arts high school in Rosemount, MN. The encounter was brief, but it was enough to inspire her to study recording at Middle Tennessee State University and eventually intern with famed producer Steve Albini. Following that opportunity she relocated to Nashville in 2012 and joined power pop band King Arthur, but split with the group in 2013 to start Bully. Within a year the newly minted group was opening for standouts like Best Coast, Those Darlins, and Superchunk within a year, leading to a deal with Columbia subsidiary Startime. Bully released their debut album Feels Like on the label in 2015, garnering praise from critics and leaving fans eager to see the up-and-coming alt-rockers in concert.
