ROYAL BLOOD IN CONCERT:
In just a few short years, British garage outfit Royal Blood has gone from a little-known upstart to a sought-after touring partner for acts like Pixies and The Arctic Monkeys. The key to their success? One of the most entertaining, high-octane live shows in rock music. Royal Blood is a duo, but the massive wall of sound they create in concert is the stuff of arena glory, all blaring guitars and crashing cymbals. Add to that the bluesy wail of lead vocalist Mike Kerr and catchy tracks like "Little Monster" and you've got yourself one heck of a live show. Already big stars in the UK, Royal Blood continue to grow their stateside fanbase with rollicking performances on tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Royal Blood was formed in 2012 in Brighton, UK, by singer Mike Kerr and drummer Matt Swan. Swan was replaced by the band's current drummer Ben Thatcher, and in 2013 the new duo made their debut with the heavy-hitting single "Out of the Black". The song launched the band to prominence virtually overnight, topping the UK Rock Chart and earning them a nomination for the BBC Sound of 2014 award. Royal Blood topped the charts again in 2014 with their second single "Little Monster", which they supported with several high-profile shows with the Arctic Monkeys. An up-and-coming act with unparalleled energy in concert, Royal Blood continue to rock fans on their must-see tours.
The Montreal show blew us all away, they sound perfect and being along a great energy. I cannot wait to see them again!
One of the best shows that I've had the pleasure of attending this year!
Man, I live shows at the Metropolis. Especially the prices of tickets. Royal Blood gave a stellar performance! I'm so happy the are not yet (even if they totally should be) at Bell Center level.
Awesome show! Venue was good and Royal blood sounded great!
Was an amazing evening, great venue, great bands. Was a bit of a short set for Royal Blood, but what a set it was. We knew they play short sets but they give it all. Will be back on their next passage! They deserved that crown! 😁
Dope show, a bit short but would definitely see them again!
Bad Nerves + Royal Blood is really something out of this world.
Tonitruante performance de Royal Blood au M.Telus. Déjà hâte de revoir cette électrisante formation !
The venue was perfect, Cleopatrick was fantastic, and Royal Blood was legendary
I love them sooo much!! History vendor is the best fit for their performance!
Cleopatrick was great, Royal Blood was amazing history is a good venue.
Royal Blood and openers cleopatrick put on a fantastic high energy show!! Can’t wait to see them both again.
Unbelievable! Royal Blood was so good live! I would never miss them ever!
The venue was excellent. I did not matter where you were, the view was great. Royal Blood are raw talent, entertaining and experienced their sound in ways that you can only experience it live. Great show!
Mike and Ben came to rock! Even illness couldn't keep Mike from rocking out with the crowd in Vancouver.
Royal Blood was great as always. Really good live band. Venue was ok. Way out of the way in UBC. Would have been better at the Commodore or Vogue.
Really great show! They are as good live as they are on their albums!
These UK boys never disappoint!! Two hours of great music.
Smaller venue, can’t hide in a stadium where horrible sound can be blamed on the venue. Sounded great, played a good mix of old and new and took the roof off. Bravo.
One of the best shows I’ve been to, they brought so much energy to the stage. One of those shows where the next day you wish you could see it again that night. Can’t wait to see them in Toronto again!
